My Journey to Perseverance and Triumph

Hello, I'm Yasmine, and this is my story of perseverance, faith, and eventual triumph amidst challenging circumstances. As a mother of three, my family's journey began when we moved to the United States, filled with hopes of a new life and the pursuit of citizenship. After settling in 2013, we obtained the necessary documents like Social Security numbers, driver's licenses, and work permits, allowing us to integrate and start building our lives even as we awaited the final decision on our immigration status.

Inspired to further my education, I enrolled in a two-year program in 2018 and successfully secured an internship through my school after the first year. Life seemed promising, and I was on the path to achieving my American dream.

However, our hopes were abruptly dashed when we received a devastating update from the U.S. Department of Immigration—my application had been denied. With it, my ability to work and study was halted. The news was a severe blow, and it disrupted my internship and threatened the stability we had started to enjoy.

Faced with the potential of having to leave the life we had built, my family and I turned to prayer and decided to seek legal counsel. We were determined to fight for our right to stay and build our future here. Through relentless pursuit and an excellent legal team, our efforts bore fruit, and I am overjoyed to share that last year, in 2023, I became a permanent resident of the United States.

In an almost miraculous turn of events, I returned to the same company where I had to abandon my internship. Remarkably, the position I had left vacant four years prior was still open, and I was able to step back into my role as if I had never left.
